What does organic actually mean?
Organic farming is in our view, the only sustainable method worth consideration. The word ‘organic’ means that we avoid any synthetically produced fertilisers, pesticides or livestock feed additives, including genetically modified ingredients. Cullimore’s Organics have been 100% organic since 1989 – 20 years of sustainable farming.
Organic principles
Organic principles are founded on the basis that you work with nature rather than against it. The relationship between the soil, plants, animals and humans has been, arguably, the most important part of our evolution throughout centuries, and is no different today.
We take our commitment to organic principles very seriously; the welfare of our animals and protecting their environment being our primary consideration throughout.
Soil Association
Our organic status is certified by Soil Association Certification Ltd, the most recognised of all UK bodies.
The Soil Association standards are the most rigorous in the UK and often exceed the minimum requirements set by the European Union.
We undergo an extremely thorough annual inspection when all records are checked but can also receive spot inspections at any time.
We think that the Soil Association have developed a reassuring system for our customers to have absolute confidence in our production methods.
