NEWSLETTER ED.4 UNTIL JANUARY 

Welcome to our fourth newsletter of 2005, especially to any new customers for whom this will be there first.

Christmas is approaching fast ,and we are already taking orders for the festive period. Because the abattoirs and meat packers are so busy over the next few weeks we have to plan along, way ahead, so that we can be sure of a slot. For this reason we are enclosing our Christmas order form, which should be returned to us as soon as possible, but definitely by 26th November, in order to ensure delivery by the big day!!

If you have any special requirements, or orders to place for Christmas, please feel free to ring and discuss these with us and we will do our best to help.

Farm life is a little quieter at this time of the year, which gives us more time to concentrate on the meat business.

The cows and calves are starting to look for some winter feed, which they will have outside for a few weeks until they are housed for the winter. The calves will be weaned (separated) from their mothers and put into separate winter quarters. Last years calves are being fed outside on silage and a little concentrated feed, ensuring good quality Christmas beef.

The rams have been put out with the ewes on 24th October, meaning the next crop of lambs will be due around March 15th 2006!

Meanwhile this years lambs continue to fatten on autumn grazing, ensuring a good supply of lamb until February / March 2006.
